Condo & Motorhome Insurance Coverage

Condo Insurance

Most people think that when they buy a condo, the master policy from their homeowner's association gives them adequate coverage. This is wrong. Master policies generally only cover your condo from the drywall out. This means that in the event of a loss, you will be responsible for fixing or replacing any damages to flooring, fixtures, cabinets, or carpets. Your master policy also excludes coverage for your personal property and personal liability.

When Shopping for Condo Insurance, Make Sure To Consider These Coverages:

  • Personal Property (clothing, furniture, electronics)
  • Additions & Alterations (flooring, carpet, cabinetry, fixtures)
  • Personal Liability

It is important that you realize the difference between Personal Property and Additions and Alterations coverages:

  • Personal Property Coverage generally covers personal belongings that are not permanently attached to the structure of your condo.
  • Additions and Alterations Coverage generally covers permanent attachments inside the Property

Motorhome Insurance

Whether you're just starting out with a brief trip or a veteran full-time motorhome, having a motorhome can be a great experience for you and your family.

Standard coverages for most motorhomes include Comprehensive (theft) Coverage, Collision Coverage, and Liability Coverage (while the vehicle is being driven). Depending on your usage and they type of vehicle you have, the standard coverages may not be enough.

Please speak with your agent regarding these optional coverages for Motorhome Insurance:

  • Coverage for Attached Accessories: Coverage for awnings, satellite dishes, and TV antennas (Etc.).
  • Total Loss Replacement Coverage: Provides coverage that protects your motorhome from the effects of depreciation. This option can save you literally thousands of dollars when compared to typical auto policies, which pay only the Actual Cash Value (ACV) of your motorhome if a total loss occurs. ACV is the current value of your motorhome.
  • Emergency Expenses Coverage: This coverage can pay for lodging or travel home if your vehicle is damaged or destroyed by a covered loss.
  • Campsite/Vacation Liability Coverage: This coverage provides liability coverage when you are parked and using your motorhome as a residence.
  • Replacement Cost Coverage: Provides coverage for personal belongings that are destroyed or stolen. Towing and Roadside Assistance: Provides towing or roadside assistance for your oversized vehicle.
  • Full-Timer Coverage: Provides liability protection that is very similar to a homeowner's policy. While an auto policy will only provide liability protection when you are using your motorhome as a vehicle, a Full-Timer policy covers you when you are parked and using your rig as a residence, too.
